Doesn't it make your face light up when you arrive somewhere and you are welcomed like close friends coming over for the holidays. Isn't it nice when people say "Let's see how we can get you there?" How bout' coming to a place that your eye views as a little pearl in the oyster known as the Texas Hill Country. Blanco, the Blanco County Inn, and Blanco Guesthouses are just that quaint.
Blanco is a relatively unchanged hill country town with San Antonio encroaching from the south and Austin reaching from the east. While we have fiber optic most of us still relish our slow speed of life. Here, life is meant to be savored not devoured. While other hill country towns have courted tourists, Blanco is still, well unchanged.
The Blanco County Inn is a little slice of heaven from a bygone era. Originally built in 1932 (we believe) with the name Lester Courts, we are the oldest continually operated lodging in Blanco County, and one of the oldest in the Texas Hill Country. While steeped in the history of this area, the inn has all the comforts of modern life. High speed wireless internet; cable TV, microwaves are just a few of the modern conveniences available to guests. The highlight however, is not the modern conveniences but the personal touches. Wine glasses, and bottle openers, extra pillows, and blankets, homey quilts, and ceiling fans are just a few of the touches in the rooms. Having said that, our park and deck area are a perfect place to enjoy the stars, a campfire, or just watch the world drift by. Have a beverage, play some Bocce Ball on the grass, or make new friends around the fire pit, after a day exploring the myriad of things to do in and around Blanco.
Blanco Guesthouses are unique accommodations in and around Blanco. Whether you are looking for upscale lodging in town or quiet elegance out of town we have something to tickle your fancy. Treat yourself to a couple's getaway within a few blocks of our town square. We're 10 minutes to the number one tee box. All these and more are in and around Blanco, Texas.
Aside from fabulous restaurants and quaint shops people say "what is there to do." Blanco is minutes from many, many popular destinations. Rivers, Lakes, and Parks are reasons people are drawn to our area. Seven of the best Texas Dancehalls are just around the corner. Tour the Texas Wine Country; it seems a new vineyard is opening each season. These things pale with all the festivals and events the area offers. The best thing is if you want to do nothing, breathe fresh air, and look at beautiful birds or stars, this is the place.
